Thanks, dear brother Robert at Watching Daily at Wisdom’s Gates for honoring me with the Versatile Blogger Award. ☺️
I haven’t gotten this one before. I probably will leave off these award posts following this, but I think I can make something somewhat thoughtful on this particular subject, so, yes, excuse me while I piggyback on it a bit…
Versatility is something I admire. The ability to bend and shape ourselves to different occasions is an important factor in life and, believe it or not, loving others well in Christ.
We ought always be us, of course, and true to the Lord, but, in that, also strive to find the common ground. That is how people’s lives can be changed for Christ. 🙂
So, ok. That’s not exactly about me, is it? This is supposed to be five facts about me. That’s the rules.
Yep. I’m stalling.😉
No, really, I am just trying to think of something I’ve not shared yet.🤔
Oh, ok. Got it! Here’s a good one:
1. Introverted little me use to do stage acting and Forensics ( not the scientific sort, but in the performance vein. ☺️) in school. I loved it dearly, armed with a slip of paper in my pocket from my Dad with Phil. 4:13 on it. I especially liked if I got to play a villain or unique personality. My favorites were the busybody mom in “Father of the Bride” and Eleanor of Aquitaine in a piece from “The Lion in Winter”.
2. Speaking of acting, I am the resident classic movie expert. Don’t get me started on who’s who in some of these movies. My husband has learned what a can of worms he can open by asking the simple question, “Who’s that actor, honey? He looks familiar.” 😀
3. I love to make homemade pizza. No premade crust for me, please. I have a secret recipe. Besides, mixing and punching the dough is incredibly therapeutic. 😉
4. This is a somewhat embarrassing one, depending on who I’m explaining it to and what their reaction is, but I don’t drive a vehicle. It started as a mental block that’s also become a physical impracticality with the state of my joints. Yes, it can be a tad inconvenient, particularly in the no man’s land our country town can be, but I can still walk at a pretty good pace, so there’s that.☺️
And, 5. When all the other girls had a crush on New Kids on the Block ( Oy. I feel old. 😁), I just rolled my eyes and cranked up The Monkees. Yes, yes, I know they didn’t play their own instruments-at first. But, eventually, they got to and they were really good! Plus, they were really funny! Still own every episode and nearly all albums, though now, my 15 year old monopolizes them. Yes, I passed my devotion to 60’s pop and vinyl on to my son. ☺️
And, that’s it. I am really racking my brains on nominations. It’s not that I don’t know any versatile bloggers, but I am not sure who would want it bestowed on them, so, in the interest of fairness, if you are reading this and feel so lead to do a post, consider yourself nominated. ☺️
Thanks and God bless.
