Hey, there, friends. Not a lot to speak but the pondering of why I have not a lot to speak. 😏

Should have something to say, God.

Why don’t I have anything to say?

Loud, clamoring chaos has ripped

Holes in the very

Fabric of our country.

And here I sit in relative silence.

Where are my carefully crafted yet

Sharp assessments of our crumbling

Where is wise counsel to encourage

And exhort?

The pressing plea to keep You at our

I survey the oh-so-human travesty of

The last little while

And I find my response coming up

My words quite nearly, almost

Why, Lord? Surely I should have a

Wealth of thoughts to pen today!

Why the silence in my soul?

And here is the answer:

Well, daughter, the thoughts are there,

Gathering in your heart,

Filling in the well,

Preparing to flow

When the time is right

And the words are clear.

For now, no flurry is needed.

No profoundness required.

For silence is sometimes the place you must go

When the noise of the world is ringing in your head

And you recognize

You must be earnestly seeking to hear from Me ….

May we all find those moments of silence in these chaotic times and earnestly listen for His voice! Blessings and Prayers, my friends!

  1. Amen, Marisa. Your post makes me think of the verse, “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). In fact, really, I think your post is an excellent example of this verse.

May the Lord’s peace be upon you, Marisa.

  2. As I read this, I thought of Mark 4:39 –
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

And also John 14:27, where Jesus said:
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Peace in the midst of a storm is a wonderful thing!

  3. Beautiful post.
God, in his divine wisdom, often asks us to quietly wait to hear his voice when the world becomes especially noisy.

In the midst of confusing changes, God reminds us that He is the great I AM.

    1. Yes… I’m trying to encourage you and make you smile. Seeing you around has been a tremendous blessing for me and I’m sure many others! You’re getting a lot of love and support. I’m not pushing you to “come back” but to stay around more often 🙂

      Awesome picture too!

      1. Yep. I figured as much and it’s much appreciated. 🙂 It does give me a nice feeling to come here and interact with friends. I have spent much of my day in deep study and prayer. Thoughts could potentially germinate. If it happens, so be it. 🙂 And thank you. I was fiddling with filters and figured an update was due.

      2. Again… I’m just happy to see you. I know we don’t know each other, other than blog friends but I think we have a pretty deep understanding of each other. I treasure that.

I wish I could feel comfortable sharing my mug on here. But I don’t… too many weird people and countries come around time to time.

      3. Yes, I feel that understanding and I can’t tell you just how special that is to me. It’s so rare.

Ah, yes, I can understand. I am still fairly selective with pictures, even more so with my kids, something that sets me apart from all those “mommy bloggers” haha, but I figure I can brave giving folks a face to go with a name. 🙂

      4. Yep. That is hard stuff. I can understand. Just remember that those who truly embrace you as a brother will get it and there may be those out there who need to read your story to realize what God can do.
